We’ll figure it out together (part 2)

I will not wait for you, but I’ll wait with you.

I love you, but I also love myself. If we are meant to be, then we will be; like you said. I promised you and I’ll keep my promise; I’m not going to push aside anything in my life that will be good for me. 

But I’ll sit around and wait with you. I’ll be here for you to talk to, and I promise to listen to you without judgement. 

I’ll be here to hold space for you. I’ll be here to give you a shoulder to cry on when you’re sad or overwhelmed, a hand to hold when you’re scared or lonely, and open arms to enfold you in when life gets to be too much. 

I’ll be here to offer you advice and love but only when you need it. I’ll be here for you always and forever as your closest friend because I refuse to give up on us. I’ll want to still be involved in your life.

And I’ll wait with you as long as it takes. I’ll wait with you because I want to see you flourish. I’ll wait with you because I want to see you transform into everything you’re meant to be. I’ll wait with you because I want to experience you in your absolute fullest joy, and I want you to know that you’re always safe to be your truest self with me. 

I want you to feel empowered to fuel your life by your passion, and I’ll help you fuel your fire if you ask me to. I can be that rock that patiently waits as you lean against me to rest and regain your strength. 

But I won’t do it for you. And I’m not going to wait for you to do it either. Time is going to keep moving. I’ll be here for you when you are ready, but I’m not going to wait for you to be ready. I’ll be here for all the steps of your journey if you want me to be. Take all the time you need. I support that aspect of your growth, and I’ll wait right here next to you, holding out the watering can so that you can nourish your cactus plants. I’ll help hold out the watering can with you, hand in hand. 

I respect your decision and value you and your journey, and I’ll always be here to sit with you. Quietly and patiently I’ll give you safety, time and space to step into the person you’ve always been able to be. 

I will not wait for you, but I’ll wait with you.

    You are waiting with me because you are so sure about me and so sure about us. Like you always do.

    I don't want you to be waiting with me because I am afraid of failing you and failing us again. Like I did.

    I am not questioning your love and care but I don't want to give myself another chance to hurt you again even just as a close friend. I did it before and I hope its once and for all.

    I want you to be able to focus on watering your own plant instead of taking care of mine. So that yours will be able to come to fruition in the way it always deserve.

    I will always treasure us and I promise I won't be a stranger if you let me. But don't wait for me. Don't wait with me. If we are meant to be, we will be.

I know that anything said concerning how I fell in love with you would seem defensive to a lot of people, but I know what I know about you and because of that I truly love you. I saw you as a female version of myself, only a lot better than I ever could be. #connection We share so much in common beliefs and principles. We never asked each other to do things we didn’t want.
